The mission of The People’s Community Wellness Center (TPCWC) is to provide primary, ambulatory health care to adults in Montgomery County, Maryland—especially of Eastern Montgomery County—who are unable to afford private health care and have no health insurance.  TPCWC is co-sponsored by Montgomery County Government and The People’s Community Baptist Church of Silver Spring, Maryland.

 

Clinical services are available for uninsured adults who meet low-income guidelines; are ineligible for government-assisted health care; and can demonstrate that they do not have personal assets, financial reserves, or sufficient family resources to support their own medical care. Many of these residents may be foreign-born and/or not have access to traditional healthcare resources. Maximum efforts will be made to accommodate bilingual adults.

 

The services of TPCWC include the following:

 

TPCWC provides referrals for primary clinical services not offered onsite. TPCWC will not, however, provide emergency care. For medical emergencies, patients must dial 911 or go immediately to the nearest hospital emergency room.

 

Volunteer financial contributions from patients for office visits will help the center to continue operating as a free clinic. However, regardless of a patient’s ability to contribute, all will be served by The People’s Community Wellness Center.

 

Hours of Operation:

TPCWC is open for services on Monday and Tuesday (9:30am to 3:30pm), Wednesday and Thursday (4:30pm to 9:00pm) and Friday (9:30am to 3:30pm).
