MCAB convenes representatives of consumers, subject matter experts, community health care partners, hospitals, the medical society, and others “to advise and recommend policies that ensure access to high quality, efficient health care and related services for low-income, uninsured, and underinsured County residents,” as described in County legislation. That same legislation designates representation by PCC’s board chair or their designee. PCC representation offers a unique perspective on the work required to translate program goals and policies into a functioning and impactful system—one that responds to the needs of both uninsured patients and the organizations providing safety-net care.
Hovian succeeds Helaine Resnick, President and CEO of Resnick, Chodorow and Associates, LLC. A health policy expert with more than 30 years of experience in health care research, assurance, and assessment, Resnick brought her devotion to excellence in health policy to her service on MCAB. PCC extends its deep gratitude to Resnick, whose term ended June 30, 2024, and a warm welcome to Hovian as he begins his service.
