Montgomery County residents who participate in the Care for Kids program or receive public assistance are eligible to apply for the County Recreation Department’s 2024 Rec Assist program, which provides $400 to each individual to cover the costs of recreation classes, activities, and memberships during the 2024 calendar year. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Individuals are eligible for the scholarship funds if they are participants of such programs as Free and Reduced-Price Meal Services (FARMS); housing assistance from a shelter; Maryland Energy Assistance; Maryland Medicaid; Montgomery County Health and Human Service Rental Assistance; Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Supplemental Social Security Income; Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children).
Applications can be submitted online, or at 2425 Reedie Drive, 10th Floor, Wheaton, Md, 20902, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications are available in English and Spanish
